The Forbes List of Billionaires and Zhang Xin

    Ranked number 488 on Forbes List of Billionaires, Zhang Xin is a wealthy businesswoman from China, who has been in the the world spotlight the last few years.  Xin is one of the richest women in the world and a real estate sensation in China.  She is the CEO of SOHO, a real estate company that is the largest developer of commercial properties in Beijing.  Xin and her husband Pan Shiyi, created SOHO in 1995.

    I find it interesting to see a billionaire who's a woman from China, especially with all of her success.  Xin definitely chose a good business to get into, real estate.  In an article on the Forbes List website, it talks about Xin understanding  that there is not necessarily a need for more real estate in China, but it is more so the culture continuing to want to buy buy buy.  Xin sees the whole thing from an interesting perspective.  She thinks that it is somewhat dangerous to keep building new and unnecessary buildings, however she must continue to make new real estate if that's what the consumers want.

    Zhang Xin  realizes that people in China lack many human rights and she is someone that is for improving this.  She also is very concerned about the gap between wealthy and poor people in China.  Even though Xin and her husband are wealthy, they are not looked upon very well by the majority of Chinese people.  Most people in China think the wealthy people rip off the rest of society.  Many customers of Xin have claimed that SOHO is more about the hype of what the company is doing and earning, but not about the quality in the real estate development.  The government-led economy does not help that, because people think that everyone who is successful and wealthy in China is corrupt.  Xin does say that it important to monitor the market and give it some direction, because otherwise a financial crisis can be in the works.
